Interested in learning about strategies to manage your own well-being and resilience so you can show up for your learners without faculty burnout? Faculty burnout exists for various reasons, and we want to learn more about the reasons it exists for you, build a community of practice so that you have the opportunity to learn and share pedagogical practices to foster positive well-being in your classroom, and practices to use for cultivating your own well-being and resilience.

What Is the WBRCOP?

The Faculty Well-being & Resilience Community of Practice (WBRCOP) centers on topics of wellness, well-being, and resilience. Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØis a partner of the Okanagan Charter and is committed to promoting well-being for all those who live, play, and work at CU. The WBRCOP draws on evidence-based research in neuroscience, psychology, education, and contemplative practices.

What Is the WBRCOP's Mission?

The mission of the WBRCOP is:

  • Build a community to destigmatize instructor burnout
  • Share strategies to foster individual well-being
  • Exchange ideas and resources to integrate pedagogical wellness practices in your courses

The mission includes being a discussion-based and highly reflective environment to empower individuals to take actionable steps to promote well-being and resilience.

The WBRCOP will have 2-Zoom meetings plus an in-person event per semester for instructors (faculty, staff, etc.) to network and generate ideas towards creating a more comprehensive and cohesive well-being program for everyone who teaches at CUB. These meetings are discussion based to share reflections, resources, and strategies with one another. We will also practice a variety of contemplative practices during the semester to use for yourself and your classroom.
