Events
Our chapter hosts professional development events, outreach opportunities, and social events. To be an active member of our society, you must attend two Totally Tuesdays and one Professional Development event per semester, as well as one Outreach Credit per year. To put SWE on your resume, you must be a nationally paying member. You can join .
Totally Tuesdays
Every Tuesday our chapter hosts a meeting from 6-7pm in the Campos Student Center. These meetings range from fun social events, such as a movie night, to more professional events, such as industry panel Q&A sessions or resume workshops.Â
Professional Development Events
Our chapter hosts a wide range of professional development events. These include, but are not limited to, industry networking nights, resume workshops, scholarship applications, alumni panels, and mentoring groups. The weekly newsletter lists the current opportunities available.
Outreach Events
Our chapter takes pride in giving back to our community and inspiring young women in our community to pursue STEM careers. We collaborate with local K-12 schools to host events that encourage girls to become passionate about STEM at an early age. This includes tutoring sessions, Girl Scout badge-earning events, and various hands-on classroom activities.
WE26 and WE Local Conferences
Each year, our chapter sends a group of members to the national SWE conference, WE26, and the local SWE conference, WE Local. These conferences provide our members great networking opportunities, as well as panels featuring leading women in STEM fields. Keep an eye on the newsletter for application deadlines. SWE prioritizes active members, and the applications are somewhat competitive.
