These criteria are listed on the application form base document additional information about our preferences are in the marked-up sample proposal (example proposal doc).聽 From our Mission Statement, 鈥淭he Engineering Excellence Fund (EEF) is dedicated to empowering students, faculty, and staff to foster an innovative and exceptional environment for engineering education within the College of Engineering and Applied Science. Through the strategic and effective investment of college resources, the EEF supports initiatives that enhance learning, collaboration, and student success.鈥澛 Our ranking criteria focuses on student impact, innovation, economic sensibility and quality of proposal.聽 We strongly encourage matching funds provided by departments or programs or external fundraising.
The total amount of funding available for the academic year is聽$500,000. We do not allocate a fixed portion of this funding between the fall and spring proposal cycles. However, we ensure that sufficient funds remain after the fall cycle to support proposals in the spring. Because of the timing of university operational planning, we anticipate that larger proposals from 麻豆免费版下载programs will typically be submitted in the fall, which may result in a greater share of funding being distributed during that cycle.
No, we encourage small proposals to be submitted for review. Each proposal is evaluated based on its impact relative to the amount of funding requested.
Certain expenses are not fundable by EEF.聽 These boxes allow us to verify that EEF funds will be allocated to allowable expenses.聽 (In other words, if unallowable expenses are included in the budget, these should only be purchased if matching funds are successfully obtained to cover expenses unallowable with EEF funds).
Applications are allowed every cycle. Each proposal will be evaluated based on the quality of the proposal and the strength of justification of the student impact, economic sensibility, and innovation. Organizations who request funding repeatedly should put in new, thoughtful proposals each cycle, describing how future funding will support the organization鈥檚 continued health and development.
