Mountain Research Station seasonal lecturers
The Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research has openings for seasonal lecturer positions, typically 10-40 hours per week. Lecturers are needed for the field courses taught at the Mountain Research Station (MRS). Key responsibilities will be teaching in person at the MRS and in the field.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in the course material.
- Responsible and reliable.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Exceptional written and spoken communication skills.

ÌýINSTAAR Student Assistant I or II
The Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research has several openings for student positions, typically 5-20 hours per week. INSTAAR faculty and students conduct interdisciplinary research and education on the past, present, and future of Earth systems in service of a just and thriving future. Students will help with various research projects, or with administrative and building duties.
An INSTAAR Student Assistant may help with the following range of duties: assisting in conducting and analyzing research, data entry, creating/editing documents, photocopying/printing, creating web content, helping to keep lab areas clean, and performing other duties as assigned.

INSTAAR Student Operations Assistant
The Institute of Arctic and Alpine Research (INSTAAR) is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Student Assistant to support the daily operations of our institute. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in event coordination, administrative support, and communications within a dynamic research environment. The ideal candidate is a reliable team player who enjoys variety in their work and can manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Coordination:ÌýAssist with planning and executing institute events, including setting up and tearing down event spaces, and coordinating food orders.
- Mailing & Shipping:ÌýProvide support for mailing and shipping services, including processing FedEx shipments and handling internal Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØmail.
- Website & Communications:ÌýAssist with updating the INSTAAR website, including creating profiles and posting event notifications. Support minor communications tasks as needed. If you are interested in journalism or science communications, you may be assigned to write occasional INSTAAR news stories.
- Administrative Projects:ÌýContribute to various projects aimed at improving operational efficiency.Ìý
Qualifications:
- Highly organized and strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative on assigned tasks
- Comfortable learning new software
- Ability to perform light physical tasks (e.g. event setup/teardown, moving mail)
Estimated number of hours/week:Ìý 12
Schedule: Must be available to work Mondays and Fridays with one additional flexible day during the week.
