Business at a Glance: A Program for Diverse High School Students

Your college journey starts now! Experience a day at the Leeds School of Business and explore what it’s like to be a business student.
The Opening Doors to Achievement (ODA) Office at the Leeds School of Business invites you to participate in Business at a Glance, a one-day hands-on experience providing students from diverse backgrounds including those who identify as first-generation and/or low-income, a glimpse into Leeds and different career opportunities in business.Ìý
You'll participate in engaging workshops led by Leeds faculty, staff, and corporate partners, learn about a variety of business career paths, and discover the many opportunities Leeds has to offer. You’ll also get valuable information about financial aid and scholarships and enjoy lunch while connecting with a corporate partner—an excellent chance to begin building your professional network.Ìý
The event is free for all participants and up to two parents or guests. The program will include a continental breakfast, full lunch, program materials, and parking. We are also offering live interpretation from English to Spanish for guests who would like to utilize it.
Sample Agenda*
- 9:00 - 9:30 AM: Check-In and Breakfast
- 9:30 - 10:30 AM: Leeds Overview & Tips to Apply
- 10:30 - 12:30 PM: Sample Lectures and Workshops
- Students: Sample Lectures from Leeds Faculty on: Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Marketing, Real Estate, Management, Sustainable Business and Entrepreneurship
- Parents: Workshop from Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØStaff on: Financial Aid & Scholarships and Supporting Your Student's Transition to College
- 12:30 - 1:15 PM: Lunch & Learn with special guests- Denver International Airport's Center of Equity and Excellence in AviationÌý
- 1:15 - 2:00 PM: Student Panel and Raffle Winner Announcement
