Dulce Valenzuela is a student at the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØ pursuing degrees in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and Women and Gender Studies, with minors in Sociology, Public Health, and Biochemistry. Her advocacy focuses on disability access, health equity specifically within LGBTQ+ and rural communities, and the experiences of families navigating complex systems of care. Drawing from her personal experience as a family caregiver, Dulce works to reimagine accessibility as a foundation for joy, independence, connection, and loving your everyday life. She has supported advocacy and community engagement efforts not only through CU, but also with organizations including Service & Advocacy for LGBTQ+ Elders, Colorado Organization for Latina Opportunity & Reproductive Rights. Dulce is also developing disability awareness programming at the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder Art Museum and projects centered on accessible community spaces and health care access. Through storytelling, education, and policy advocacy, she hopes to create more inclusive communities across Colorado.
