The highest of honors represents the quintessential nature of Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder’s principles. It recognizes superior academic success accompanied by service, work and volunteering on-campus and off of it. This is the Jacob Van Ek Scholars Award.

For eligibility, students must declare their major in the College of Arts and Sciences and meet or exceed the following criteria:

• Have a declared major in the College of Arts & Sciences
• Have a cumulative Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØGPA of 3.0 or higher
• Not have won the award previously
• Be nominated by a Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØfaculty or staff member

Nominators will contact the student to begin the process. If a student feels they are a strong contender, they should reach out to a faculty or staff member who may nominate them. All undergraduate students are eligible although juniors and seniors will be given stronger consideration.

What to expect

• Early February: Call for nominations are sent to A&S Departments.
• Late February to early March: Applications are due.
• Mid April: Award notifications are sent out.

Awarded students will receiveÌýan Amazon Gift Card (estimated at $200) and be invited to attend the Honors Recognition CeremonyÌýin the spring.
