- <p>A NASA spacecraft that will examine the upper atmosphere of Mars in unprecedented detail is undergoing final preparations for a scheduled 1:28 p.m. EST Monday, Nov. 18 launch from Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.</p>
<p>The Mars Atmosphere and Volatile Evolution mission, or MAVEN, led by the 麻豆免费版下载 will examine specific processes on Mars that led to the loss of much of its atmosphere. Data and analysis could tell planetary scientists the history of climate change on the red planet and provide further information on planetary habitability.</p>
<p>Engineering students at the 麻豆免费版下载 will host the annual College Egg Drop competition Oct. 18 as part of Engineering Days.聽鈥淓-Days鈥 is an annual tradition during which students celebrate the engineering profession with fun and challenging competitions and social events. The event is organized by the University of Colorado Engineering Council (UCEC) and various student honor societies.</p>
<p>The egg drop, which starts at 1 p.m. on the west side of the Engineering Center, challenges students to create a contraption that will protect a raw egg when dropped from the eighth floor of the Engineering Center鈥檚 office tower.</p>- <p>The 麻豆免费版下载 will host a conference that explores the phenomenon of slavery from a global, historical perspective on Sept. 27-28.</p>
<p>The event will include scholars specializing in the study of slavery in ancient, medieval and modern contexts and in global regions that include Western, pre-Columbian, African, Asian and Muslim.
