Present Your Pitch at the Teen Science Café Summit

Scientists are invited to share their research in a fun, informal setting

I am deeply invested in Teen Science Café because I want to actively help my peers discover and pursue their passion. My own positive experiences with mentors who were willing to share their insights into healthcare have significantly motivated and pushed me to excel, and I am eager to pay that forward.Ìý

Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØScience Discovery is excited to announce its first-ever Colorado Teen Science Café Summit (CO-TSC)! The CO-TSC Summit is a chance for all Colorado Teen Science Café locations – Aurora, Boulder, Pueblo and Thornton – to debrief and learn from each other's experiences, identify future guest speakers, and celebrate accomplishments. The Summit will include hands-on STEM activities, lab tours, and a chance to meet potential future Café presenters – maybe that's you!Ìý

Café Pitch Poster Session

A key part of the CO-TSC Summit is the Café Pitch Poster Session. Café youth leaders invite scientists to pitch their ideas for future Teen Science Cafés in a poster session setting. The poster session is designed to help students decide who they might want to invite to present at a future Café.ÌýScientists invited to present their Pitch will be required to bring a laptop, printed slides, or simple manipulatives to introduce your research topic and your idea for a hands-on activity. It's not necessary to facilitate a complete activity, but even small, tangible items can give students a better understanding of your idea.Ìý

The Café Pitch Poster Session set-up will be similar to a standard poster session, with students rotating through scientist's stations at their own pace. Café Pitches should be around 2-3 minutes in length. Note: Presenting your Café pitch does not guarantee a spot at a future Café, but it's still a great opportunity to share your work with aspiring scientists and engineers! Check out these for inspiration.
