a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM)ÌýeducationÌýoutreach program atÌýthe Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØ. Science DiscoveryÌýmanages programs that engage K-12 students andÌýteachers in STEM and connectÌýpublic audiencesÌýwith the STEM research happening at Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder. Science Discovery programs utilizeÌýÂ鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØscientific expertise, equipment, resources and faculty, graduate andÌýundergraduate students in order to provide participantsÌýwith unique, experiential STEM learning experiences.

Build Something Cool Workshop

Inspired by Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder’s innovative Creative Technology and Design program, students are invited to participate in this hands-on STEM workshop led by Science Discovery and partners. Using the versatile Micro:bit, a pocket-sized computer with endless possibilities, middle and high school students, families, and teachers are invited to practice block-based coding and apply the engineering design process to create their own prototype inventions. Whether they're new to coding or an experienced maker, everyone will find opportunities to strengthen their skills in coding, electronics and design thinking while seeing their imagination come to life. Come explore, create, and build something cool!

Emergence: Exploring Quantum Technology Through Music and Dance

Saturday, November 14 | 6–8pm

Curious about quantum? Don't miss Emergence: Exploring Quantum Technology Through Music and Dance—a multimedia performance designed to make quantum science accessible, relevant, and inspiring for all ages. Featuring a quantum physicist from NIST (as seen on NOVA!), musicians from Grande Orquesta Navarre, and accomplished tango dancers, the show will blend physics demos with live music and dance performances to illustrate quantum science concepts.
