Students can apply for summer field grants to research alpine tundra - Deadline March 1, 2026

The University of Colorado Mountain Research Station is pleased to announce a competitive Summer Field Research Grant, supported by the , to fund undergraduate or graduate students conducting alpine tundra research during Summer 2026.
Funding Scope: This grant supports independent or mentored field research with a clear focus on alpine tundra. Preference will be given to applicants who plan to reside at the Mountain Research Station for the duration of their fieldwork.
Allowable Costs: Grant funds may be used for student salary or stipend, research supplies and field equipment, and lodging and food if staying at the Mountain Research Station.
Award Amount: Budgets of up to $12,500 USD will be considered and must be well justified. Partial awards may be made depending on merit and available funds.
Application Materials:
- A one-page research proposal outlining background, objectives, methods, and expected outcomes.
- A one-page budget with a brief justification.
