Join MENV faculty and staff for a garden tour and art activity at Growing Gardens, 1630 Hawthorn Ave, Boulder, CO 80304 at 9:00 am for check-in and introductions. You can find a map of how to get to this location at the bottom of . From 9:00 – 9:30 am, light refreshments will be provided. Please bring your own mug/cup.ÌýÌý
During your time at Growing Gardens, you will participate in a 45-minute farm tour from 9:45 am - 10:30 am, so be prepared to do a little walking. The tour will be followed by a hand-rolled candle-making activity from 10:45 am - 12:15 pm. The art activity will be held in the outdoor courtyard tent, so there will be shade and protection from rain, but please wear comfortable clothes and shoes and bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses for the tour portion of the event.Ìý

MENV Director and Sustainability in the Outdoor Industry Specialization Lead, Natalie Ooi, Capstone Lead, Alice Reznickova, and two graduate students will lead a beautiful and relaxed morning hike in Boulder. We will be doing part of the Table Mesa and Bear Canyon Loop starting from the NCAR parking lot. The hike will be approximately 3.4 miles, with the opportunity for shortcuts or additions, depending on how everyone is feeling. In other words, we can take this slow and use it as a great opportunity to get some fresh air and reconnect with the MENV community! We will have two groups walking in opposite directions so that our impact on the trail and others is minimized.ÌýÌý
The plan is to hike rain or shine, unless safety becomes a concern. Please bring a rain jacket, layers, hat, sunscreen, and sturdy shoes to ensure you are protected against the elements. We recommend that you pack a minimum of 2L of water and some snacks to sustain you over the hike. We will provide some additional snacks as a backup, but please eat breakfast before you arrive!ÌýÌý
We will meet on Saturday, September 19th at 9:30 am sharp at the NCAR Trailhead right next to NCAR Rd and the entrance to the parking lot.Ìý

The campus sustainability tour will be led by MENV’s Renewable and Sustainable Energy specialization lead, Josh Radoff, who also serves as CU’s Director of Campus Climate Action, Sustainability, and Resilience.ÌýÌý
The tour will highlight key campus sustainability initiatives on CU’s main campus. on Saturday, September 19th, we will meet at 1:30 pm and start the tour from the . Paid parking is available in at the SE corner of Regent & Colorado. Attendees will need to pay for on-campus parking or walk to and from campus from off-campus parking areas.ÌýÌý
In total, the tour will include 1.5 miles of walking. Please bring water, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, and comfortable, supportive shoes.ÌýÌý
Due to the nature of the walking tour, this activity will be canceled in the event of bad weather. You will receive an email and text notification from Josh in the morning if the tour is canceled. In that case, there may be an opportunity to attend bowling as your afternoon activity.Ìý
We recommend eating lunch before the tour. Light snacks will be provided.ÌýÌý
Following the tour, Josh invites attendees to join him at the Limelight Hotel for a drink.ÌýÌý

We will have a section of bowling lanes and billiards tables at The Connection in the UMC. Plan to arrive at 1:30 pm on Saturday, September 19th. When you arrive, let the staff know that you are here for MENV’s 10th Anniversary event. Grab your bowling shoes and join us in our section. Remember to bring socks for bowling.ÌýÌý
Food from the snack bar will be provided by MENV.ÌýÌý
There is available on campus as well as free neighborhood parking nearby. The Connection is on the first floor of the UMC, on the south side of the building. Building directories inside the UMC can help guide you as needed.ÌýÌý
