Coaching Program

Personalized coaching to accelerate your growth as a leader

The Center for Leadership Coaching Program pairs Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder students with certified professional coaches for one-on-one leadership coaching. Launched as a pilot in Spring 2022, the program has grown to support 60 students each academic year, offering a rare opportunity to work with experienced coaches at no cost to students.

Whether you’re navigating leadership roles, career transitions, or personal growth, coaching offers a confidential, supportive space to clarify goals, build self-awareness, and strengthen your leadership impact.

Who Participates

  • Fall: Newton Leadership Fellows are matched with coaches as part of their fellowship experience
  • Spring: Students from Center for Leadership affiliate programs apply to fill remaining coaching spots, approximately 30 each spring semester

What You’ll Get

  • Up to 10 hours of 1:1 coaching with a certified leadership coach
  • Pre/post emotional intelligence assessment (EQ-i 2.0) with coach debrief
  • Personalized goal-setting and leadership development plan
  • Flexible scheduling (mostly remote; in-person by mutual agreement)

Why Coaching Works

Program evaluation shows that students who complete coaching report meaningful gains in key leadership outcomes, including:

  • Stronger leader identity
  • Greater leadership self-efficacy
  • More authentic leadership behaviors

Students also describe coaching as transformative for navigating transitions, clarifying values, and building emotional intelligence. These outcomes align with national research showing professional coaching supports emerging leaders’ growth in identity, purpose, wellbeing, and leadership capacity.

“My coach helped me navigate a major transition point and see it as an opportunity.â€

“I’m more aware of my emotions and how to manage them as a leader.â€
