Fall 2026 Internships

Historic Boulder鈥檚 鈥淢eet the Spirits鈥 鈥 Research Assistants

Historic Boulder, Inc. (鈥淗BI鈥) has hosted a history reenactment event in Boulder鈥檚听 (9th & College) for over three decades: 鈥鈥 invites people of all ages into the cemetery to hear costumed volunteer actors portray and tell the stories of the early residents of Boulder who are buried there.听 Of the over 6,500 people interred at Columbia, we have gathered stories for less than 100 and seek to diversify our historical records by adding stories of Latinx, Indigenous, and Asian-descent people who were part of Boulder鈥檚 community. We recognize that these histories have been marginalized and finding their rich detail requires time, effort and creativity in seeking them out.听 In an effort to support the documentation of Latinx, Indigenous, and Asian stories in the historical record, our goal is to add several Latinx, Indigenous, and Asian people to our 鈥淪pirit鈥 cast to share these stories with the public in an engaging way.听

The cemetery has an index of people buried in the cemetery which is the starting point for the research project and we have a partial list of candidate 鈥渟pirits鈥 here:听 补苍诲听
