Spring 2026 Information
Dear Graduating Students,
Students who have applied for graduation in either MayÌýor August of 2026, their family, and guests are cordially invited to a ceremony honoring the May and August 2026Ìýgraduates of the Department ofÌýEconomics.ÌýThisÌýdepartmentÌýrecognition ceremonyÌýwill be held in theÌýSaturday, May 2, 2026, Doors Open at 4 p.m., Ceremony at 4:30 p.m., Rec Center (REC) Upper Gymnasium.Ìý().ÌýThere will be a reception following the ceremony.

TicketsÌýare not required for this event.Ìý
Graduates:Ìýplease do not arrive any later than 4:15 p.m. Because this is an academic ceremony, academicÌýregalia is required and can be purchased in the University Book Store in theÌýweeks leading up to the event.
DoorsÌýopen at 4 p.m. forÌýguests.
GraduatesÌýshould arrive between 4 p.m. and 4:15 p.m.ÌýStaff will assist during this time to helpÌýgraduates be seated in the correct area of the auditorium.Ìý
The ceremony will beginÌýpromptlyÌýat 4:30 p.m. The ceremony will lastÌýapproximatelyÌý1.5 hours andÌýit is expected that graduates remain for the durationÌýand thatÌýfamily stay seated when possible.

ProfessionalÌýphotographsÌýwillÌýbe taken byÌýÌýbefore and after you walk across the stage.ÌýThere is a discount coupon for photographs forÌý.Ìý

What to expect whenÌýyou arrive at the Rec Center.
1. PleaseÌýarrive between 4:00 and 4:15 p.m.
2. There is noÌýarea to keep purses or valuables, so please leave those with your guests priorÌýto entering the Rec Center.ÌýÌý
3. A table with staff members will be located outside the main gym.ÌýPlease stop at the table to pick up and fill out a Reader Card prior to entering the gyn. This card is what you will hand to the faculty card readers just before you walk across the stage. Be careful to writeÌýlegibly. If you have a difficult nameÌýto pronounce, please phonetically spellÌýyour name exactly how it sounds to assist the faculty card reader. Here is anÌýexample of how to phonetically spell your name:Ìý
