Accommodations
In collaboration with the university community, Disability Services ensures that students with disabilities receive reasonable accommodations and services to participate equally in the academic environment.
Eligibility for accommodations is based on the data in the documentation and accompanying school information that clearly demonstrate that a student has one or more functional limitations in the academic/residential setting and that these limitations require accommodation in order to achieve equal access. Accommodations are intended to provide equal access, not guarantee success or maximize a student’s potential.
Students who have been approved for accommodations will useÌýAIMÌýto make and track supplemental accommodation requests, manage their accommodation lettersÌýand check the status of other service requests.
Grievances for accommodations
If a student registered with Disability Services believes the accommodation(s) provided are not reasonable or not being met, or if the student’s requested accommodation is denied, the University has developed procedures to assist the student in the grievance and appeal process. The goal is to resolve concerns quickly and at the lowest level.
