Buff Experience Transformation Update

Buff Experience Transformation Update – May 19, 2026
Build Phase Continues: System Configuration in Progress
The Buff Experience Transformation project continues active build and configuration work as we move into the summer months. Build sprints are proceeding on schedule, with our implementation partner Cloud for Good advancing core Education Cloud functionality and the Office of Information Technology's Learner Engagement Technology team progressing on the transition from legacy Buff Portal Advising while maintaining current system stability. Marcus Thomas (formerly Devs United) continues work on the Marketing Cloud transition. Sprint demonstrations and subject matter expert testing sessions remain central to our iterative development approach, ensuring campus expertise shapes the system before deployment.
License Needs AssessmentÌý
As part of the Buff Experience Transformation project, we are conducting a brief survey to help assess licensing needs across participating campus units. The goal of this review is to ensure that we fully understand the licenses required within units and divisions, while informing future-state planning as the project scales. Your input will help the project team make informed, responsible decisions in partnership with campus.
Adoption Lead Network Taking Shape
Thank you to everyone who submitted Adoption Lead nominations. We are building a cross-campus network of individuals who will serve as local champions during the transition to the new system. Adoption Leads will play a critical role in supporting their colleagues through training, answering questions, and facilitating smooth adoption in their units.
Ongoing Work and TimelineÌý
The project team continues to finalize decisions on detailed MVP feature prioritization, data migration scope and timelines, and the Marketing Cloud subscription data model. Discovery deliverables including the Security Framework and Data Cloud Design Plan are progressing through final review and approval. We remain on track for configuration and development work to continue through October 2026, followed by end-user testing and training. As we move into summer, we maintain our commitment to transparency about what will be available at launch and what will be delivered in subsequent phases.Ìý
Weekly Engagement ContinuesÌý
Weekly Q&A sessions continue every Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. and remain open to all campus stakeholders. These sessions provide ongoing opportunities to ask questions, share feedback, and stay informed as system development progresses. Working groups continue to meet regularly and can schedule additional sessions on specific topics as needs arise. We encourage you to stay connected and engaged as we move through this critical build phase.
