A Departmental Property Manager (DPM) certification is awarded to those who complete all four sessions within a two-year period.

Training and certification is sponsored by the Campus Controller's Office, the Office of Contracts and Grants, and Property Services.

Session 1: General Overview

  • Session Goals:
    • This session covers guidelines and best practices relating to purchasing, tagging, inventorying, updating location, transferring and surplussing capital equipment ($5,000+).

Session 2: Fabrications

  • Session Goals:
    • This session covers the life cycle of a fabrication, from requesting the fabrication sub-class speedtype to putting the item into service. This training is appropriate for anyone involved in fiscal procurement, lab management and departmental property.

Session 3: AssetWorks ReCoup

  • Date & Time: Asynchronous
    • If you're in the current cohort, we recommend completing this course between Dec. 3 and Dec. 19.

  • Session Goals:
    • This course provides an overview of Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder's Surplus Property Disposal policy and process. Participants will learn about surplus property disposals and transfer of assets to entities outside of the university. It also provides details on use of the AssetWorks ReCoup software.

Session 4: Sponsored Project Property

    • If you're in the current cohort, we recommend completing this course between Dec. 22 and Jan. 9.

  • Session Goals:
    • This course covers administrative topics throughout the lifecycle of sponsored project property and provides participants with the context and resources needed to be responsible stewards of sponsored project property. A general overview of the topics covered are: terms and conditions, basic roles and responsibilities, acquisition, managing sponsor titled property, various titles to equipment, reporting, inventory and disposition process.
