Prospective Graduate Students

Holistic Graduate Admissions in ClassicsÌý
Classics is committed to offering diverse range of students an opportunity to engage in the field. The holistic review of applications allows the faculty to select the best students who fit the research areas offered within the department. The Admissions Committee is looking for innovative and high-quality writing samples, three strong letters of recommendation, the academic statement of purpose, and undergraduate and graduate academic performance shown through grade point averages. The academic statement should address the applicant’s research interests, highlighting where you see yourself going as a researcher in our program. It should also demonstrate a general understanding of the field of Classics, as well as enthusiasm for the larger questions relating to the applicant’s area of interest.
