To Kira Starick, the perfect college experience means finding the balance between well-being and academic success. She has managed to accomplish that at Leeds. Access to skiing, hiking and outdoor activities—paired with experiential learning, a flexible framework, global experiences and gaining leadership skills—have combined to help her build a positive outlook about pursuing her passions as well as creating opportunities for others.
But the journey hasn't been without challenges. A feeling of imposter syndrome sometimes creeps in—being surrounded by accomplished peers can feel intimidating. Her advice to anyone feeling similar self-doubt is to take direct action and achieve measurable results, no matter how small.
That philosophy has fueled various achievements, from serving as the vice president of the , becoming a Peer2Peer Mentor, and taking First-Year Global Experience trips to Japan and India. She has also worked to bridge the gap between the and Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW) clubs to increase engagement and create a direct pipeline to professional development. Her efforts reflect not only personal growth but also a deep commitment to supporting those around her.
