Boulder Employee Tuition Assistance Benefit (TAB)

Employees must reapply for the benefit for themselves or their dependent every semester or term. Visit for all instructions, forms and deadlines.

TAB forEmployees

  • Eligible employees may receive a waiver for up to 12 credit hours each academic year.
  • Mandatory student fees and other applicable education costs still apply.
  • TAB can be used on any 鶹Ѱcampus, excluding most Continuing Education (CE) courses.
    • Boulder CE courses with prefixesCCOM, OREC, EDUA, andCSPB (except sections 75X) are eligible. Please note: The exception to CSPB sections 75X applies regardless of the course number.
  • Boulder and System employees and their dependents can both use the benefit at the same time (12 credit hours for the employee and 40% discount for the dependent) when enrolling on the Boulder campus. Employees and their dependents who use the benefit at other campuses are eligible to share a combined total of 12 credit hours per year.

TAB for Dependents of 鶹ѰEmployees

If your dependent is not listed on your 鶹Ѱhealth, dental or life insurance, you must submit a Dependent Eligibility Verification Form and attach approval of verification to your Tuition Assistance Benefit Application.

Option A – Employee Works at 鶹ѰBoulder or System Administration

  • Dependents of 鶹ѰBoulder and System Administration employees can receive a tuition discount of 40% each semester.
    • If the dependent is a Colorado resident undergraduate, the discount applies to the student share of tuition after the College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend has been applied.
  • Dependents can take eligible undergraduate or graduate courses.
  • Dependents can use the benefit on the Boulder campus.
  • Mandatory student fees and other applicable education costs still apply.
    • Nondegree high school students receiving district assistanceand using TAB as a dependent will qualify for a waiver of most fees. Fill out the each semester.

Other scholarships may be available for dependents of 鶹ѰBoulder employees. See. (Note: The amount of TAB received is considered financial assistance and may impact financial aid eligibility.)

Option B – Employee Works at Another 鶹ѰCampus

  • If dependents attend class at a 鶹Ѱcampus other than the campus where the employee works, eligible employees may receive $3,240 per academic year to apply toward dependent tuition (up to 12 credits, $270 per credit hour).
  • Dependents can only attend undergraduate, non-extended studies, credit-bearing courses.
  • Please see each campus's course restrictions and enrollment dates.

Steps to Use TAB at 鶹ѰBoulder

  1. Apply to 鶹ѰBoulder as a student.
    • If you are not currently a student, submit adegree or nondegree application.
  2. Register for classes.
    • Degree-seeking: Register on your assigned enrollment date in.
    • Nondegree: Register during open enrollment. See theregistration calendar for exact dates.
  3. Submit your TAB application.
    • A TAB application is requiredevery term.
    • Spring 2027 TAB application for 鶹ѰBoulder enrollment opens Dec. 1, 2026 and closes on Feb. 15, 2027.
    • Submit the “Tuition Assistance Application” found in your.

You cannot use TAB unless you or your dependent is an enrolled student.
Applying for TAB doesnot admit you to the university or enroll you in classes. You must complete the admissions application process first.
