The Hill Lab is seeking a student assistant to help with research needs in summer 2026. Our lab studies the interface between the gut microbiota and the pancreas. We are interested in understanding the lifelong effects of resident microbes (such as bacteria and fungi) on pancreatic health. Specifically, we study how exposures to unique microbes can modulate postnatal pancreatic development, as well as later life diseases (diabetes and pancreatic cancer). Our goal is to develop microbe-derived treatments and preventions for these diseases. This position will be temporary and 10-20 hours per week from June through August 15, 2026.
