Join your colleagues in celebrating the graduating class of 2026 by volunteering to help students and their families and guests during commencement events. Commencement volunteers are critical to ensuring this campus tradition is enjoyable, celebratory and smooth for everyone who will be visiting campus.

Volunteer shifts are available for the following roles between Friday, May 1, and Sunday, May 3.

Accessibility ambassador

Accessibility ambassadors will support guests needing mobility assistance by providing transport via wheelchairs between drop-off locations to seating locations. A variety of shifts are available for the university commencement ceremony at Folsom Field and recognition ceremonies at the �鶹��Ѱ��Events Center.

Commencement procession breakfast support

Breakfast volunteers will help set up, serve and celebrate with seniors for the Senior Class Council commencement procession breakfast. After the graduating class begins processing, this group of volunteers will also help with the take-down portion of the event.

Golf cart driver

As a golf cart volunteer, you will pick up and drive ceremony guests and students who seem lost on campus or who need assistance in moving from one location to another.

Volunteers must acknowledge they have reviewed or taken CU’s Motorized Off-Road Vehicles (Golf Cart Safety) training prior to the beginning of the volunteer shift. There will be a quick training before volunteers depart for the day that will further explain routes and pick-up/drop-off locations.

Recognition ceremony host

The role of the recognition ceremony host is to serve as a representative of the Commencement Committee at various campus venues in support of the recognition ceremony planners. Think of yourself as the event venue manager or host for your shift. You can even select a shift based on the college, school or department hosting the event, if you have a special connection.

Don’t know where to start or feeling stuck in your job search? No problem! Join Career Services to learn about strategies for finding, applying for and successfully getting jobs and internships. Make an impact at VolunteerFest! Join this hands-on service event where you will dive into quick service projects to create big change in our community. No experience needed; stay as long as you are able!

Guided meditation: Circling the Sun–Savoring Peace within the Planetary Dance

5–6 p.m. Fiske Planetarium
Join this fully-immersive, multi-sensorial guided mediation to cultivate ease of mind and profound peace before finals. Students, staff and faculty are all warmly welcomed. Guided by Matthew Tomatz, experienced meditation facilitator, yoga teacher and psychotherapist with Counseling and Psychiatric Services (CAPS). Arrive on time so the meditation is not disturbed. No late admittance. Free admission on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 4:30 p.m. (30 minutes prior to the start of the event).

Two former U.S. national security advisers will face off in this high-profile debate on whether the United States is "committing superpower suicide" at the 78th Conference on World Affairs.

Native Spring Foraging: Outdoor Adventures

Red Sunflower Seed Pickup: Grow Campus History

Pick up your red sunflower seeds and plant a piece of �鶹��Ѱ��Boulder history in celebration of the university’s 150th anniversary. Seeds will be available April 16 and 22 inside the east entrance of Norlin Library from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. both days. Seed packets can also be picked up at the Ask a Librarian desk in Norlin and each of the campus libraries’ service desks starting April 16.
