Dr. Pui Fong Kan’s research examines bilingual language development with a particular focus on children who are dual language learners and children at risk for developmental language disorder. Her research investigates vocabulary learning, semantic development, and cross-linguistic processes across diverse linguistic communities. She specializes in clinical approaches that strengthen assessment and intervention for bilinguals. Her current research focuses on bilingual children’s language development across home and school settings. She teaches courses on language disorders in children and on bilingualism and communication disorders.
