We sent this email on Monday, April 20, 2026, to students who were enrolled in a Fall 2026 class that was evaluated as eligible for grade replacement.

Dear [first],

According to our records, you've enrolled to retake the same class or a direct equivalent of [Class] in Fall 2026. We've evaluated that this class is eligible for grade replacement.

Grade replacement is applied automatically at the end of each term for eligible courses and students. We’ll send you another email once grade replacement has been applied to your record (after grades have posted at the end of the semester).

Remember, the grade you earned in the most recent prior attempt will still appear on your transcript, but it will be replaced in your cumulative GPA and credit totals by the grade from your latest attempt as long as that grade is the same or better.

Repeating a Course Without Grade Replacement

If the course becomes ineligible for grade replacement, grade replacement won’t be applied and the grades from both attempts will be included in your cumulative and major GPAs, credit totals and academic standing. For example, if a lower grade is earned in the latest attempt, or if you withdraw or drop the class. Learn more about the eligibility requirements for grade replacement.

You may also repeat a course without grade replacement by submitting an opt-out request from your Colorado email to registrar@colorado.edu by the last day of the semester. Opting out of grade replacement is irreversible. Please meet with your advisor to discuss how opting out of grade replacement will impact your GPA and academic standing.

COF was created by the Colorado Legislature to pay a portion of total in-state tuition for eligible undergrads. There's no limit to the number of students who receive it, and you never have to pay it back.

If you don't apply for COF and/or resolve your application error by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026, you won't receive the COF tuition reduction for your eligible Spring 2026 class(es).

Dear [first],

Your College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend can't be applied to your bill because you didn't include your Social Security number (SSN) in your COF application.

As a reminder, COF was created by the Colorado Legislature to pay a portion of total in-state tuition for eligible undergrads. There's no limit to the number of students who receive it, and you never have to pay it back.

To Correct Your Record

To resolve this error, follow our step-by-step instructions to update your record by 5 p.m. on Friday, April 24, 2026.

Do not email anything containing your SSN. Doing so could put you at high risk for identity theft.

We'll securely send your information to College Assist. Once the error is resolved, follow our instructions to authorize COF by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2026.

What You Need to Know

In-state students: All active, registered Colorado voters automatically receive a ballot in the mail a few weeks before Election Day. If you plan to vote in Boulder or in your home county, make sure you're registered to vote and that your ballot mailing address is up to date. Colorado voters may update their registration anytime.
Out-of-state students: You may choose to either request an absentee ballot from your home state or register to vote in Boulder County. You cannot register and/or vote in both locations. Many states have a registration and/or absentee ballot request deadline, so act now to receive your ballot.

Note: If you register to vote in Colorado, you may be considered a Colorado resident for motor vehicle registration, income tax, and jury duty purposes. Registering to vote does not automatically make you a resident for tuition purposes. Your �鶹��Ѱ��Boulder tuition classification won't change unless you take all of the necessary actions to establish residency and successfully petition for a change in residency.
Students living on campus: Whether voting in Colorado or in your home state via absentee ballot, you must use your mailbox number, not your dorm room number for your ballot to find you. Visit Boulder County's Student Voting Guidelines page for instructions.

Registration is open for Fall 2026, but it doesn't look like you've enrolled in classes yet. For the best chance to get the classes you want, we encourage you to register as soon as possible.

Registration for continuing undergraduate students remains open through Thursday, May 21. Schedule adjustment opens July 21 and remains open through open enrollment. After May 21, you will not be able to add or edit your classes until the schedule adjustment period opens July 21.

Waitlist processing will pause starting May 22 and will resume July 21.

Your enrollment status may affect your eligibility for housing, tuition remission, health insurance, financial aid, loan deferment status, purchasing a �鶹��Ѱ��Sports Pass and more. If you're considering dropping below full-time status, contact the applicable offices to find out how this change could affect you.

Schedule an advising appointment.
Clear any holds that will prevent you from registering.
Complete your preregistration items.
Build your shopping cart.
If a class is closed, join the waitlist and use drop if enrolled on a backup class.
If a class you need is only offered on another �鶹��Ѱ��campus, consider intercampus enrollment.
Finish enrolling in classes.

Thinking about taking classes this summer? Summer Session at �鶹��Ѱ��Boulder has hundreds of classes available to help you earn credit toward your degree. Summer classes allow you to shorten your time to graduation and let you focus on one or two classes at a time.

Summer Session courses are offered during multiple sessions that fit your schedule and, if your summer unexpectedly frees up, registration for most sessions remains open through at least the second day of the session (view session calendars).

Session Dates & Instruction Formats

This summer, classes are available in multiple instruction modes: in-person, online, remote or hybrid. You can check your class's instruction mode using the summer class schedule.

According to our records, you may be eligible to receive an associate degree from the community college you previously attended by opting in to Colorado's reverse transfer program.

This program allows students who've transferred from a Colorado community college to a Colorado university to combine and apply credits from both institutions toward an associate degree from the community college.

This means the associate degree you started at the community college may be awarded to you at no additional cost, immediately boosting your earning potential and career opportunities.

How to Participate

Go to the Colorado reverse transfer webpage to learn more.
Opt in to the program. By opting in, you're consenting to have your �鶹��Ѱ��academic records securely shared with your community college.
If you've taken courses at any other college or university, be sure to have official transcripts sent to your community college so they can evaluate that work as well.

What Happens Next

After you opt in, your former community college will review your degree eligibility, typically in April.

If you're eligible for a degree, it will be awarded to you automatically. The community college will contact you via the email you provided on the opt-in site.
If you still need a few more credits, you will be contacted.

Tuesday, March 24 is the last day for undergraduate and graduate students (law students excluded) to complete the following actions for a full-semester Main Campus class:*

Class withdrawal: If you drop a Main Campus class after Jan. 23 but remain enrolled in the semester, you'll be required to pay 100 percent of tuition and fees (no refund), and a W notation will post to your transcript.
Change a class's grade mode from letter grade to pass/fail (or vice versa): Only student-option courses** are eligible. The last day to change a class to or from no credit (audit) was Jan. 23.

If you've satisfactorily completed a substantial amount of work for a class but are unable to complete it due to reasons beyond your control, you may request an incomplete (I) grade. This will give you additional time to complete your coursework before your instructor is required to assign your final grade. For more information, see �鶹��Ѱ��Boulder's incomplete grade policy.

*If you're taking a special session Main Campus class, check the special session calendar for that session's deadlines.

**If a department designates a course as student option, it's your choice whether to take it for a letter grade or as pass/fail.
