Your Summer 2026 enrollment dates are now available (see below). If you're planning to take classes this summer, we encourage you to register as soon as your enrollment period begins for the best chance to get the classes, class times and/or instruction modes you want.

Get Ready to Register

Your assigned enrollment period begins at 8 a.m. on [date], and remains open through the add deadline for each session.

To make registration as easy as possible, complete these tasks before enrollment opens:

Add your enrollment date to your calendar.
Resolve any registration holds by following the instructions in the hold's description.
Schedule an advising appointment.
Apply for 2025-26 financial aid if you haven't already done so, then apply for summer aid starting Feb. 25.
Complete preregistration.
Search for classes and add them to your shopping cart for faster registration. Learn more about how to search for classes.

Coming Back After Some Time Away?

Even if you're not taking classes right now, you're still considered an active student if you've been away for no more than two semesters plus summer (undergraduate students) or if you're on a graduate leave of absence (graduate students).

You have been approved for in-state tuition as an honorably discharged veteran. We want to thank you for your service and provide some information about the potential benefits of becoming a Colorado resident for tuition purposes.

Financial Benefits of Becoming a Resident

As an honorably discharged veteran, you’ll be assessed the in-state tuition rate as long as you remain at �鶹��Ѱ��Boulder. However, if you are 22 years old or older, married, or a graduate student, you can act now to become a full Colorado resident. Colorado residents are considered for state and �鶹��Ѱ��Boulder grants, which may significantly increase your financial aid offer.

Your Next Steps to Petition for a Residency Change

Step 1: Submit Your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

If you do intend to become a Colorado resident and you haven't done so already, submit your 2026–27 FAFSA and any requested documentation. Learn more about applying for aid.

Step 2: Take Action to Establish Colorado Domicile

The clock started ticking to establish Colorado domicile when you physically moved to the state. To prove your intent to make Colorado your one, true, fixed and permanent home, you're required to:

Get a Colorado driver's license within 120 days of moving to the state.
Register your vehicle (if you have one) in Colorado within 180 days of moving to the state to avoid penalties.
Establish additional Colorado ties. Visit our adult residency page and watch the adult residency video to learn the full requirements.

Step 3: Submit a Residency Petition

Use the residency calendars to determine the first semester for which you'd qualify for in-state residency. Once petitions open for that term, submit your residency petition with all required documentation to the Office of the Registrar by the posted deadline.

Our records indicate that you expected to complete the undergraduate requirements for your Bachelor's–Accelerated Master's (BAM) program in Summer 2026.

If this is still when you plan to graduate with your bachelor's degree, complete the steps below to continue with your master's degree. These steps need to be completed before the end of February so you're able to enroll in Summer 2026 classes when registration opens the first week of March.

Apply to graduate with your bachelor's degree.
Submit a master's continuation form.
Submit a BAM supplement form to identify which courses you're double counting and which should apply to your master's degree.

If your expected graduation term has changed, please complete a BAM program change form so we can update your records. If you're completing your bachelor's degree this semester, you'll need to complete the steps above by Sunday, March 1.

Students are considered for different types and amounts of financial aid when they become graduates students. If you're receiving financial aid, please note that your aid will be adjusted automatically when your student status changes.

We noticed that you've exhausted your allotted 145 lifetime hours of COF funding toward your degree. On your behalf, we've granted you an institutional extension that allows your COF funding to continue through Fall 2026.

You don't need to take any additional action at this time. This semester's COF hours will be applied to your bill within 48 to 72 hours.

To Apply for Additional COF Hours

If you need COF hours beyond Fall 2026, you may submit a Colorado Commission on Higher Education waiver request to ask for additional hours.

To Postpone This Extension

To postpone this COF lifetime limit extension until your next semester of enrollment, email the COF support team by 5 p.m. on Friday, March 27.

Please be aware that if you postpone the extension, you'll be responsible for paying the portion of this semester's tuition typically covered by COF funds.

Dear [first],

According to our records, you're currently classified as a nonresident (out-of-state) for tuition purposes. As a graduate or law student, you may be eligible to petition for a change to resident (in-state) tuition classification for Spring 2027, provided you established physical presence in Colorado on or before January 6, 2026, and take the necessary steps to establish legal ties by the time periods outlined below.

To be eligible for a change to resident classification for any term, you must demonstrate at least 12 months of Colorado domicile before the term start. Domicile is your true, fixed and permanent home of habitation. Establishing domicile requires physical presence (living in Colorado), severing legal ties to your former state and establishing new legal ties to Colorado in a timely manner after moving to the state.

Your Next Steps to Qualify for Spring 2027

If you moved to Colorado on or before Jan. 6, 2026, and you'd like to petition for a change to resident classification for Spring 2027:

Take action now to establish legal ties to Colorado.
Get a Colorado driver’s license or state ID within 120 days of moving to the state.
Change your voter registration to Colorado if you are a registered voter.
Register your vehicle in Colorado within 180 days of moving to the state.
File income taxes as a Colorado resident.

Review our adult petition information, graduate student video and graduate student handout for detailed requirements expected of a Colorado resident. It is your responsibility to review the requirements and ensure you have met them.
Submit your completed Adult Residency Petition between Oct. 1, 2026, and Dec. 11, 2026 (5 p.m.). Mark the final deadline on your calendar now.

*If you fail to take the required steps by the deadlines outlined above, your petition will be denied and you will continue to be assessed out-of-state tuition.

**If you maintain legal ties to another state, your petition will be denied and you will continue to be assessed out-of-state tuition.

Considerations for International Students & WRGP Participants

International students with student visas (e.g., F-1, F-2, H-3, J-1, M-1, M-2) do not typically qualify for in-state tuition and should not submit a petition without first contacting the tuition classification office at tuitclass@colorado.edu.

Graduate students who qualify for in-state tuition rates under the Western Regional Graduate Program (WRGP) should not make changes to their domicile and should not petition for in-state tuition. WRGP applies to select academic programs only.

You must apply for COF by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026, to receive the COF tuition reduction for your eligible Fall 2025 classes.

COF was created by the Colorado Legislature to pay a portion of total in-state tuition for eligible undergrads. There's no limit to the number of students who receive it, and you never have to pay it back.

What Happens Next

If a seat becomes available in your waitlisted class:

Between now and Jan. 16, the next eligible waitlisted student will be enrolled automatically. If you're enrolled automatically, you'll receive an email confirmation within 24 hours.
Between Jan. 17 and Jan. 25, contact the department offering the class to see if their policies allow them to enroll you manually. If not, you may want to remain on the waitlist so you're eligible for course reservation, which can guarantee you a seat the next time the course is offered.

On Monday, Jan. 26, waitlists are canceled. If you still aren't enrolled, you'll lose access to the class's online materials and be removed from the class roster. If you remain on the waitlist, we'll email you a reminder at the start of the next course reservation period. Additional eligibility requirements may apply and some classes are only offered during certain semesters.
