Omeesha joined the Office of Victim Assistance in August of 2026 as a Post-Master’s Victim Advocate Counselor. She is a first-generation South Asian clinician who completed her MA in Psychology with a concentration in Trauma and Global Mental Health at the University of Denver. Along with this educational training, she furthered her skills in trauma-focused care providing care navigation and advocacy, along with individual, couple’s and group therapy at the Trauma and Disaster Recovery Clinic and a local private practice serving marginalized populations. She has experience working with acute and long-term trauma, grief, identity and life transitions.
Her clinical approach is feminist, relationally grounded and culturally-humble, and she draws on a myriad of techniques from psychodynamic psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and somatic awareness. This helps her meet her clients where they are, in an affirming manner. Omeesha is committed to creating a space that is safe, empowering and trauma-informed, where her client’s priorities comes first.
Omeesha is an English-Tamil bilingual clinician who also has intermediate skills in Hindi.
Outside the office, she is a certified meditation teacher and yoga practitioner, an enthusiastic thrifter and creative spirit, and someone who believes that a good sweet potato meal has the power to heal!
