Planning your arrivalÌý
ÌýÌýExpect traffic and arrive earlyÌý
Commencement weekend brings a lot of excitement—and a lot of visitors—to Boulder and campus. Please plan for heavy traffic and allow extra time to park and get to the stadium.Ìý
All Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder campus parking lots will be free and open to the public on a space-available basis during the commencement and recognition ceremonies.Ìý

Commencement Ceremony detailsÌý
ÌýÌýWhat to bring (and what to leave at home)Ìý
Folsom Field has a clear bag policy that will be enforced during the commencement ceremony. All guests should expect to go through a security screening before entering the stadium.Ìý
Allowed bags:Ìý
- Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags no larger than 12â€� x 6â€� x 12â€�Ìý
- One-gallon (or smaller) clear plastic freezer bagsÌý
Please note that backpacks, diaper bags and other similar bags are not permitted.Ìý
Several items are also prohibited inside Folsom Field, including balloons, artificial noisemakers, professional‑grade cameras and video equipment. Reviewing the prohibited items list ahead of time can help avoid delays at the gate.Ìý
ÌýÌýSeating and ceremony timingÌý
- Stadium gates open: 7 a.m.Ìý
- Recommended seating time: By 8:15 a.m. to enjoy watching the student processionalÌý
No tickets are required for the commencement ceremony. Seating is first‑come, first‑served, so arriving early is the best way to secure seats together and near your graduate.Ìý
ÌýÌýBuild your full celebration scheduleÌý
The main commencement ceremony is Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder’s premier event honoring all graduating Buffs, but it’s not the only opportunity to celebrate.Ìý
The celebrations continue at theÌýÌýhosted by your student's specific college, school, department or program. Recognition ceremonies complement the commencement ceremony by recognizing the individual student in a smaller, more intimate setting.Ìý
