Successful Innovation in Materials Symposium at Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder
The 4th Annual Innovation in Materials Symposium brought together over 100 scientists and engineers for a special conference at the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØ.
The successful event, held August 15 and hosted by the Materials Science and Engineering Program at Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder, drew speakers and attendees from across the Front Range.
Industry, academia, and research laboratories were all represented at the symposium, with plenary talks given by representatives of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the University of Chicago, and the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
Sessions covered an array of materials subject areas, including battery architecture, organic medical technology, atomic layer deposition, and advanced solar cells.
The afternoon portion of the conference also included a poster session, with three student presenters receiving awards for their work:
- 1st Place: Morgan Riffe, PhD Student, Materials Science and Engineering, Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder (Advisor: Jason Burdick)
- 2nd Place: William Frantz, PhD Student, Biomedical Engineering, Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder (Advisor: Mark Borden)
- 3rd Place: Allyson Cunningham, PhD Student, Chemistry, Colorado State University (Advisor: )
Our congratulations to each of the honorees and thanks to all of the presenters and attendees.
