Janos Englander was elected a full member of Sigma Xi, The Scientific Research Honor Society in 2026. Sigma Xi is the world’s largest general research honor society. It is an
international, multidisciplinary organization for research scientists and engineers.

Over the course of the Society’s distinguished history, more than 200 members have won the Nobel Prize and many more have earned election to the National Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Engineering.

Zheng Xiao received his PhD in 2022 at Michigan State University, under the supervision of Aaron D. Levin. His research interests include number theory, arithmetic geometry and complex hyperbolic geometry, focusing on classical Diophantine geometry problems such as the distribution of rational and integral points on algebraic varieties, value distribution of holomorphic and meromorphic maps in Nevanlinna theory, and other topics related to Vojta's conjecture.

Established in 2008, the BLAST conference series focuses on topics in the Foundations of Mathematics. The acronym BLAST stands for ``Boolean algebra, Lattices, universal Algebra, Set theory, and set-theoretic Topology''.

The NSF has renewed the conference grant supporting the meetings in May 2025 at �鶹��Ѱ��Boulder, 2026 at Baylor University and 2027 at Notre Dame. This current sequence is organized by Peter Mayr (PI) and Keith Kearnes at CU, Daniel Herden and Marcos Mazari-Armida at Baylor University, Natasha Dobrinen and Nick Ramsey at Notre Dame.
