Colorado Law Achieves ABA Reaccreditation
The American Bar Association approved the reaccreditation of the University of Colorado Law School in August 2026, affirming that the school offers a rigorous legal education program that prepares students to work responsibly as legal professionals.
The accreditation process considers key metrics including bar exam passage rates, employment outcomes, academic curriculum, faculty support, library and technology resources, availability of student services and more.
It is intended to prevent students from being taken advantage of and to protect clients, the public and the legal system by helping ensure lawyers are competent to fulfill their professional responsibilities.

The reaccreditation process for established law schools occurs every 10 years. It relies on extensive data submitted by the school and a four-day site visit that occurred in March 2026, along with periodic monitoring between formal visits.
Colorado Law is among 198 ABA-accredited law schools in the United States and was first accredited in 1923, the same year as Columbia, Harvard, Yale and numerous other leading American law schools.
