Submitting Theses to Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØScholar

Final copies of honors theses must be submitted to theÌý on Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØScholar. We cannot accept theses uploaded to other Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØScholar repositories.

Thesis Author Guidelines

  • Reviewing Your Thesis Record:Ìý Under the new Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØScholar software system, once you have uploaded your thesis, you will not be able to make changes.Ìý If you need to edit your thesis after uploading, please contact cuscholaradmin@colorado.edu for assistance.
  • Compatible File Types: Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØScholar is compatible with Microsoft Word documents and PDFs. If you upload your thesis as a Word document, Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØScholar will autoconvert the file to PDF. Please review the PDF version as soon as possible to make sure none of your formatting was lost.
  • Delaying making your thesis public: If you have submitted your work for publication or otherwise want to delay your thesis becoming public on Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØScholar, you can apply what's called an embargo your thesis as part of the upload process. Theses under embargo are not available to view in Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØScholar until the embargo has ended. The scholarly librarians at Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØBoulder recommend that embargoes last no longer than 18-24 months; however, longer embargos are allowed under certain circumstances.Ìý To make changes to a date you selected, simply email cuscholaradmin@colorado.edu to request the change.
  • Associated Works: If your thesis has associated works (ex. art, film, recording), you'll have the option to either upload or link to additional files.
  • Timeline for Posting: The Honors Program is required to vet all honors thesis submissions before posting them to Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØScholar; this process usually takes one to three weeks from the final copy deadline. After a thesis is posted to Âé¶¹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØScholar, no additional changes can be made.
  • Copyright policies: The copyright holder(s) of the submitted work, as well as those of any third-party content contained therein, retain all copyrights including the right to publish and/or deposit the work elsewhere. If you are seeking to publish your thesis elsewhere, ask the publisher about their specific policies or consult the for information on publisher copyright policies.
