How to use your Anthem Gold Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP)

The Anthem Gold Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) is an insurance plan designed specifically for 鶹ѰBoulder students. This plan provides comprehensive local, national and international coverage for medical and mental health services.

Here is how to use your plan on and off campus.

How to access your insurance cards

Students may access their insurance cards through the Sydney Health app starting Aug. 1.

  1. Download the Sydney Health app from the or ٴǰ

  1. Register by clicking ‘Not Signed Up?’ at the bottom of the sign on screen

  1. Register using your first and last name, date of birth and student ID number

  1. Once signed in, select the ‘ID Cards’ option from the top menu bar

The Sydney Health app can also be used to review your claims, explore coverage benefits and find in-network providers.

Using Anthem Gold SHIP

On campus

The Anthem Gold SHIP provides full coverage for the following services provided on campus.

  • Primary care
  • Labs and X-ray*
  • Physical therapy (15 visits)
  • Nutrition counseling
  • Counseling and psychiatry (up to 14 visits)
  • Sexual and reproductive health
  • Chiropractic care (10 visits)

*Lab services must be ordered and managed by Medical Services providers. Labs ordered by a community provider or sent out for processing to an outside facility will be subject to insurance terms including copays, deductible and coinsurance.

Locally or nationally

Follow these steps to find in-network community providers.

  • 1. Go to
  • 2. Enter your member ID number (prefix BKJ) in the search menu
  • 3. Click “Search”
  • 4. Select your city, county or zip code from the top right search bar.
  • 5. Search for providers by:
    • Entering a specialty, name or National Provider Identifier (NPI) in the search bar
    • Selecting one of the specialty options for the bottom menu
  • 6. Select “View Details” to view more information about a particular provider.

Pharmacy benefits

The Anthem Gold SHIP can be used to fill prescriptions on campus at the Apothecary pharmacy or at most pharmacy retailers.

To search for specific medication coverage and estimated costs, you can use .

Simply search for a prescription by name or use the alphabetical sorting option to browse different medications.
