I’m happy to welcome Anca Kokinakos to our team as our new Facilities Management Access Services Manager. She will officially start on September 22, 2025.

Anca brings over 10 years of experience managing operations, security, and access services across universities, federal agencies, and the private sector. She has worked at �鶹��Ѱ��Boulder, �鶹��Ѱ��Denver, and the National Renewable Energy Lab—leading projects that improved safety, streamlined access and supported high-level teams.

Here’s what Anca brings to the role:

Managed access and security for over 60 labs and 240,000 sq. ft. of research space at �鶹��Ѱ��Boulder
Supported executive teams and coordinated major events with NASA, the Department of Defense, and state leaders
Led emergency response planning and compliance efforts across multiple institutions
A collaborative approach, attention to detail and operational efficiency

I’m pleased to share that Josh Radoff, faculty lead for the Renewable and Sustainable Energy specialization in the Masters of the Environment (MENV) program, will be joining the infrastructure and resilience team. Josh has been appointed as �鶹��Ѱ��Boulder’s new director of campus climate action, sustainability and resilience within the Office of Infrastructure and Resilience.

In this role, Josh will lead the implementation and evolution of �鶹��Ѱ��Boulder’s Climate Action Plan, with a particular focus on Scope 3 emissions, zero waste initiatives and the elimination of single-use plastics. His portfolio will also include supporting infrastructure decarbonization efforts—such as the transition from steam to low-temperature hot water, solar, and geothermal integration—as well as sustainable design practices in new construction and major renovations. He will also represent infrastructure and resilience on a number of sustainability committees and working groups along with his work with the new vice chancellor for sustainability, Andrew Mayock.

Josh brings deep expertise in energy systems, sustainable design and campus engagement. He will also continue his faculty role within the MENV program and was recently appointed as a commissioner on Colorado’s Solid and Hazardous Waste Commission.

This is a pivotal moment for �鶹��Ѱ��Boulder’s sustainability journey, and Josh’s leadership will be instrumental in turning our Climate Action Plan into visible, impactful projects. Please join me in welcoming Josh to this important new role.

I&R allows volunteer hours to be granted from work to serve the community in various ways. Volunteer time is credited on a fiscal year basis (July 1 through June 30). Some examples of this service may be as a volunteer worker at a charitable organization or attending a school function for one’s child or relative.

Volunteer leave must be requested from your supervisor and approved by the appointing authority.
16 hours of leave time is granted each fiscal year (pro-rated for appointments less than 100%). Staff who start on or after January 1 receive eight hours of volunteer time to be used before June 30.
Any unused portion as of June 30 is forfeited (hours do not roll forward).

Kalyani is an exceptional addition to our team, having recently earned her Master of Science in Data Sciences right here at the �鶹��Ѱ��. Her valuable experience at the University, coupled with her impressive background in data analytics with Johnson Controls, makes her a perfect fit for our Facilities Management Operations department.
