Community and Scholarship Assistant Job Description

The Campos Student Center at 麻豆免费版下载Boulder is accepting applications for our Community and Scholarship Assistant (CASA) role!听

Candidates for the CASA role should be able to effectively demonstrate and communicate skills and experiences related to project management, program & event planning, interpersonal communication, and/or leadership through participation in CSC programs and other campus involvement. CASAs will also serve as ambassadors of The Campos Student Center through their interactions with all members of the CSC Community.

Areas of Responsibilities:

  • Peer Mentoring & Support (30%)
    • Engage with first-year CSC Scholar mentees to build relationships and provide peer-to-peer support.听
      • Meet with students monthly to check in on topics related to academics, wellbeing, housing, and more.
    • Plan and facilitate 3-4 events with your assigned student committee for the CSC community (including for your mentees)
    • Actively communicate and engage within the CSC Community.
    • Provide relevant referrals and resources available within CSC, CEAS, and at 麻豆免费版下载to students who need support or don鈥檛 know what resources exist
    • Submit timely and accurate communications to supervisors regarding students鈥 concerns (academic, health, personal, etc.) when appropriate.
  • Scholarship Support (30%)
    • Track and grade scholarship requirements for CSC Scholars via Canvas weekly.
      • Follow-up with CSC Scholars who are missing requirements in a timely manner to ensure scholarship requirements are not missed.
    • Assist CSC Advisors in collecting feedback from CSC Scholars during:
      • End of year survey
        • Through regular checkpoints
    • Collect and synthesize data and assessment for scholarship reporting and tracking needs.
      • Ensure data is collected for events to help answer questions such as 鈥渨hat went well?鈥 or 鈥渨hat can we improve for next time.鈥
    • During spring semester, assist in reviewing scholarship applications within the Blackbaud Award Management system; process application information and assist with fair usage of the rubric to ensure equality.
  • Programming & Engagement (30%)
    • Assist CSC Staff in designing, implementing, and assessing regularly scheduled CSC events such as Pre-Arrival, Orientation, CSC Welcome Week, and more!
    • Support both Campos Student Center and Will Vill programming for CSC students on any of the following topics:
      • Academic Support & Resources
      • Professional Development
      • Culturally Responsive programming
      • Health & Wellness
      • Financial Literacy
      • Community Building Socials
      • Life Skills
    • Collaborate with multiple CEAS & 麻豆免费版下载departments and services for CSC programs and events for the CSC Community.
    • Partner and collaborate with the Content and Communication Specialist in marketing events and relevant deadlines for CSC community.
    • Assist with inventory and distribution of materials for student programming including budget tracking and spending.
  • Administrative Duties (10%)
    • Check e-mail correspondence daily and respond to students accordingly
      • Establish communication method with your mentee to ensure your monthly meetings are occuring in a timely manner
    • Submit mentee logs monthly summarizing your conversations with mentees to help catalogue data on the mentees as a whole
    • Timely submission of timesheets for hours worked during pay periods.
    • Must be available to attend Summer CASA Training tentatively planned for Aug 10-Aug 13, 2026
    • Attend and participate in regularly schedule meetings with CSC Staff
    • Effectively communicate, collaborate, and support CSC professional staff and fellow student staff.
    • Serve as an ambassador of The Campos Student Center and role model CSC鈥檚 mission, vision, and values.
    • Conduct self responsibly and in accordance with expectations of the position and university policy.
    • Other duties as assigned by the Scholarship Program Manager and the Scholarship Coordinator.听
  • Eligibility & Requirements:听Must be enrolled as a full-time (12 credits or more) undergraduate within CEAS at 麻豆免费版下载Boulder.
  • Previous participation in The Campos Student Center and an awareness of CSC programs, student societies, and CSC resources.
    • Preference will be given to current students receiving the following scholarships:
      • BOLD Scholarship
      • GoldShirt
  • Enthusiasm to contribute to the CSC community and providing support to your fellow students!
  • Students are expected to maintain a 2.50 cumulative GPA with support from CSC staff.
  • Work-study preferred but not required.
  • Tentative and approximate hours per week:
    • August Student Employment Training
      • 30-40 hours (total) during CSC CASA training.
    • Academic Year (Fall 2026-Spring 2027)
      • 5-10 hours per week
        • 1 hour per week for CASA staff meetings
        • 1-2 hours per week for tracking and grading canvas submissions, logging mentee conversations听
        • 1-2 hours per week meeting with assigned programming committee
        • 1-2 hours per week engaging with mentees and CSC community
        • 1-3 hours per week supporting/attending CSC events either for your committee or others in the CSC community

Pay & Compensation:

  • The pay rate begins at $17+ an hour as a Student Assistant I with no additional benefits.
