What Does This Mean for Students on Coursera?

  • Already completed a course or specialization? You do not need to retake the refreshed version. Your existing completion certificate remains valid.
  • Currently working through a course or specialization? If you have not yet completed the current version, we recommend transitioning to the refreshed version once it becomes available. If you move to the refreshed version, some coursework may need to be completed again. This may include updated quizzes, assignments, or other activities that have changed between versions. Please save copies of any work you would like to keep before transitioning to the refreshed version.
  • Important Information for Learners Pursuing Academic Credit:ÌýBeginning in Fall 2026, students will only be able to earn credit and transfer progress in the refreshed version. The for-credit version will align with the refreshed public/open content version of this course. Only progress made in the new version will be carried to the for-credit courses.
