Natasha Lindstaedt

Dr. Natasha Lindstaedt is a Professor of Government at the University of Essex. Dr. Lindstaedt's research focuses on authoritarian regimes, democratic backsliding, violent non-state actors, and human security. She has published extensively on these topics including upcoming Combatting the Authoritarian Challenge, and Failed States and Institutional Decay, Democracies and Authoritarian Regimes, Democratic Decay and Authoritarian Resurgence and Human Security in Disease and Disaster. ÌýAt the University of Essex, she has taught courses in State Building and Governance, International Development, International Security, Latin American Politics, Asian Politics and Middle East Politics. She has consulted the United Nations Economic and Social Commission of Western Asia and she has also worked on projects with the European Union External Action Service and IDEA International. Dr. Lindstaedt also regularly provides analysis for CNN, BBC News, France 24 and Al Jazeera.
