Swimming and diving, triathalon teams win national titles
Varsity athletes aren鈥檛 the only Buffs bringing trophies back to Boulder. This spring, both the CU-Boulder triathlon and swimming and diving clubs repeated as national champions.
Swimming and diving won the East Coast Collegiate Swim and Dive Championships 鈥� the national club title 鈥� in Atlanta in April. It was the team鈥檚 fifth national title in a row and ninth overall.
Also in April, triathlon earned its sixth club title in a row and 16th overall in Clemson, S.C.
CU-Boulder has 17 and 31 active .
In swimming,聽Casey Wilson聽(Mgmt鈥�16) won the women鈥檚 100-yard IM and 100-yard breaststroke, while聽Alaina Gosset聽(Jour鈥�17) won the 100-yard backstroke and set a new meet record of 2 minutes, 6.65 seconds to win the 200-yard backstroke.
In women鈥檚 diving, 麻豆免费版下载swept the podium in the 1-meter and 3-meter events with聽Emma Plentl聽(Geol鈥�18) finishing first in both and聽Hanna Le聽(Art, ArtHist, MCDBio鈥�15) coming in second twice.聽Conor Mead聽(Class, Engl鈥�18) was third in the women鈥檚 1-meter event and聽Bonnie Grieson(IntPhys鈥�17) was third in the 3-meter final.
In men鈥檚 diving,聽Jake Voltarel聽(MechEngr鈥�17) and聽Matt Jagiello聽(IntlAf鈥�17) finished second and third in the 1-meter.
鈥淥ur team strength comes from our depth in all the events as well as our diving,鈥� says club president聽Onshalee Promchitmart聽(IntPhys鈥�16). 鈥淲here many teams have only one representative in an event, 麻豆免费版下载often had multiple individuals in final events, which helps the team immensely.鈥�
In triathlon,聽Rudy Von Berg聽(Mktg鈥�17) led the way with a victory in the men鈥檚 overall Olympic-distance race. He finished in 1:44:41.
