Knane Bay named to AIChE’s "35 Under 35"

Assistant Professor Knane Bay was named to AIChE - American Institute of Chemical Engineers' prestigious 35 Under 35 list, which recognizes outstanding chemical engineering professionals under the age of 35.
Bay was selected in the Chemical & Materials category from more than 70 nominations representing researchers, educators and industry professionals around the world.
Her research at the Â鶹Ãâ·Ñ°æÏÂÔØ is advancing new approaches for characterizing and processing difficult-to-handle materials, with the goal of understanding and programming their properties for applications in biotechnology, protection, packaging, energy and sensing. At the Huli Materials Lab, she and her team develop innovative methods to study the mechanics of ultrathin polymer films and microbial biofilms, while also combining advanced fabrication techniques with living cells to create engineered living materials with programmable properties.
