Recently Dr. Angie Crews had the opportunity to speak with at about the rapidly evolving Earth observation landscape.Ìý
They discussed the tremendous growth in commercial remote sensing, advances in capabilities such as AI/ML and hyperspectral imaging, and the opportunities that these technologies create. They also explored the security and governance questions that come with increasingly capable Earth observation systems. Dr. Crews especially appreciated the opportunity to talk about preparing the next generation of remote sensing scientists and engineers for this rapidly changing field.
